Portrait of Mike Wu

Hi! I'm Mike Wu.

I like to spend a lot of my time thinking and coding random ideas, some related to machine learning research, some for hackathon projects, and others for startup ventures.

From the research side, I'm interested in (1) better deep generative models and (2) interpretability in deep learning. Currently, I'm a first-year PhD student at Stanford rotating in Noah Goodman's lab. Check this out for more about my research.

In the past, I've learned lots from working at Facebook Research, collaborating with AI labs at Yale, Harvard, and Oxford, cofounding YHack, an international collegiate hackthon, and starting Invrea, a spreadsheet probabilistic programming language built directly in Excel.
